What is FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) was one of the first successful methods of transferring files over the internet. Still widely used, it is sort of the "lowest common denominator" of file transfer.
User Accounts
All FTP users have a unique USERNAME and PASSWORD. This assures that only you can upload or download files into/from your folder. It also helps us to identify to whom files belong. Click here to get your account set up with us. It only takes a few minutes.
Preparing Files for FTP
Mac users, ALWAYS stuff files using Stuffit before sending files! This is very important to keep files from becoming damaged. PC users, ZIP files using WINZIP or another ZIP utility to compress files before sending.
Consider Using MassTransit
If you have not tried MassTransit, we suggest you sign up and give it a try. It has numerous advantages over FTP and can even be used as an FTP Client for Mac users! A USERNAME and PASSWORD must be assigned to you before you can connect to the FTP server.
Download FTP Software
- Mac users - download Fetch (OSX, 712 K)
- PC users - download FTP Explorer (ZIP, 662 K)
If Using an FTP Program:
- Server Address: 208.60.67.137
User Name: USERNAME
Password: PASSWORD
- Directory to send files:
Ftp://USERNAME:PASSWORD@208.60.67.137/drop_off/
- Directory to pick up files:
Ftp://USERNAME:PASSWORD@208.60.67.137/pick_up/
WARNING:
Often web browsers do not work well to send files via FTP. Frequently they attempt to open the file rather than send it. If this happens, you will need to download one of the shareware FTP programs to send the files. |
